Offering daily duties
Offer your work, family life, and small daily struggles to the Sacred Heart in reparation.
Why this practice
Reparation is not made only in church. It is made in traffic, at the office, in the kitchen, at a difficult family table. Every moment of ordinary life — done well, done for love — can be offered in reparation to the Sacred Heart.
This is the form of reparation accessible to everyone: the mother of small children, the worker in a hard job, the patient in chronic illness. Nothing of ordinary life is wasted on the Heart that takes it.
How to begin
Reparation is made not in great deeds, but in small days lived for love.
— After St. Thérèse of Lisieux
A prayer for this practice
Sacred Heart of Jesus, this day I have lived as I could. The work and the struggle and the small denials I gather up now and place before Thee. Let them console Thy Heart for what others, perhaps including me, have not given.
Amen.
